PF Engineers provides technical due diligence on solar projects

• General - Photovoltaic solar (PV) has become an established technology. The projects continue to get bigger and bigger, which raises other technical issues. We expect that solar will become the primary renewable generation source in the very near future.
• Experience - We have reviewed numerous solar facilities both utility scale and rooftop installations. Lately, we have been dealing with more of the 100 MWac facilities, or larger. We have dealt with numerous panel and inverter suppliers, but now the primary technical challenge is getting a contractor to build these projects.
• Common Issues - Solar resource, land control, equipment issues, availability of EPC contractors, and O&M.
• Risk Mitigants - Executed construction contract(s), Financial model generation sensitivities, solid O&M plan (including an inverter reserve account), and make sure that the equipment/OEM is vetted.
