• General - Sustainable Avaiation Fuel (SAF) is the next phase in biofuels. This is a matter of making fuel that is approved for use in airplanes to reduce the overall carbon footprint. (Plus, a great excuse to include a photo of a SR-71.)
• Experience - We have reviewed a few SAF projects. The technologies utilized are similar to that of an ethanol, biodiesel, or renewable diesel facility.
• Common Issues - Much like other biofuels projects, the feedstocks and material handling is critical to the success of a SAF project.
• Risk Mitigants - Contracted feedstocks, contracted offtake, and process redundancy to account for plant interruptions.
