PF Engineers provides technical due diligence on landfill gas projects

• General - Landfill gas (LFG) projects can be broken down into LFG to Energy or RNG. For either type of project, the key aspect is the LFG production from the landfill and the collection efficiency of the Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS).
• Experience - We have reviewed numerous LFG facilities. Whether the LFG is burned for power generation or the LFG is conditioned to produce RNG, the GCCS is the key and should be the emphasis of the due diligence.
• Common Issues - Gas availability (aka LFG production and/or GCCS collection efficiency) and gas impurities (i.e. hydrogen sulfides and siloxanes).
• Risk Mitigants - Independent check of gas supply model (both technically and contractually), and ensure the appropriate gas conditioning is incorporated into the project even for power generation.
