Biodiesel
PF Engineers provides technical due diligence on biodiesel projects

- General - Biodiesel is the process of making a fuel similar to diesel fuel. Often times the feedstock is plant based or waste fats, such as cooking oil. This can be processed to produce a fuel that can be used in a diesel engine.
- Experience - We have reviewed a few biodiesel facilities with various feedstocks. We've looked at rape seed oil, jatropha, animal fats, and yellow grease.
- Common Issues - Market risk for feedstock pricing and biodiesel pricing. New entry into the biodiesel space is limited. The market risks are an impediment to entry into this space.
- Risk Mitigants - Ensure that feedstock and biodiesel offtake agreements are in place.
